Lithuania confirms it can become LNG transit country from Australia to the Ukraine
Lithuania admits an opportunity of becoming the transit country for gas from Australia to the Ukraine, the advisor of the Minister of Energy, M. Dubauskas, said.
Last week the Minister of Energy of the Ukraine, V. Demchishin, said that Kiev considers a variant of purchasing LNG from Australia. The Ukraine realizes the impossibility of direct supplies.
LNG can be shipped from Australia at the regasification terminals in Świnoujście (Poland) or Klaipeda (Lithuania) and then by regular gas pipelines to the Ukraine, Demchishin said.
This is a real variant, M. Dubauskas said. Lithuania is a reliable transit country for the shipment of energy products and it is beneficial for all.
