BP boasts it attracts $13 bln in Shah-Deniz 2

The largest shareholder of the Shah Deniz gas condensate field development project in Azerbaijan - British BP – has stated that to date contracts for more than $13 billion for the second phase of the project development have already been signed.

According to Gordon Birrell, Regional President of BP in Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey, in the framework of the Shah-Deniz 2 project and the expansion of the South Caucasus gas pipeline 22 thousand people work in Azerbaijan, and more than 3 thousand - in Georgia. The construction of one of the gas compressor stations in Georgia within the pipeline expansion is 42% completed.
