Yanukovich: Ukrainian policy in the sphere of energy is aimed at diversification of gas deliveries

This year Ukraine is going to consume 27 billion cubic metres of Russian natural gas. “In 2010 we consumed 41 billion cubic metres of gas, this year we’ll consume 27 billion”, the President Viktor Yanukovich said.

As told by Yanukovich, the country’s energy policy is aimed at the diversification of natural gas deliveries. “The Ukraine has already started purchasing gas at the European market which is much cheaper. We’ll go on doing this if we don’t come to an agreement with our Russian partners”, the President said
