Rosneft invites Japanese investors to take part in Eastern Petrochemical Company

Rosneft has proposed Japanese investors to consider participating in the creation of the Eastern Petrochemical Company (VNHK), the company's president Igor Sechin reports.

According to him, now Japan imports about 25-30 million tons of oil products per year for further processing.

"As far as I understand you don’t consider plans to expand these volumes for a while. Nevertheless, we call on our colleagues to think about the possibilities. In particular, they relate to VNHK - the largest investment project of Rosneft in the Far East of the Russian Federation for the construction of an oil refining and petrochemical complex. These are possibilities of supplying equipment, an issue of a reasonable division of labor and specialization in the development of the petrochemical direction,"- said Sechin at then international conference on energy cooperation between Russia and Japan.
