Tatneft extend development of superviscous oil fields and studies prospectivity of shale oil

Tatnfet extends works on development drilling at the Ashalchinskoye superviscous oil field, the company’s Chief Geologist Rais Khisamov reported during the international forum “Unconventional oil of Russia and methods of enhanced oil recovery”, organized by the Adam Smith Institute in Moscow on December, 3-4.

Since the start of the field development in 2006, 24 dual and 5 individual horizontal wells were drilled; 19 dual wells are operated. The daily oil production makes up 533 tons and accumulated one – over 310 thousand tons. In 2013, the expected production level is 145 thousand tons.
