ChelPipe Group to participate in “Bovanenkovo-Ukhta” expansion project

In March-June 2014 Chelyabinsk Pipe Rolling plant will supply more than 45 thousand tons of LDP, worth more than 4 billion roubles to OJSC “Gazprom” for the construction of the second branch of “Bovanenkovo-Ukhta gas pipeline system”. They will deliver pipes of 1420 mm in diameter and 23 and 27.7 mm of wall thickness from steel of K65 (X80) grade, with internal and external 3-layered anti-rust coating and operating pressure of 11.8 MPa (120 atmosphere). The LDP will be manufactured at the workshop “Vysota 239” of ChelPipe from steel plates of the Magnitogorsk Iron-and-Steel works and German “Salzgitter” under the control of a third party inspection “Business Trend” LLC.

The specialists of OJSC “Gazprom” and “Gazprom VNIIGAS” certified the pipes in August 2011. The steelworkers shipped more than 230 thousand tons of LDP within the period from 2011 to 2013. There were also supplied pipe spools, manufactured by “SOT” (oil-service division of “Rimera”). According to “Gazprom” they are about to finish the construction of the “Bovanenkovo-Ukhta gas pipelines system” by 2016.
