"Rosneft" pays cash to the Board of Directors.
Instead of the shares, the participants will receive money.
This year "Rosneft" has changed its remuneration of the members of its board of directors’. Instead of state-owned shares, as it was in recent years, they will receive cash - $ 530-630 thousand. The problem is in American members of the board – Donald Humphreys and John Mack. They do not have the status of professional investors, and "Rosneft" has no right to give them its shares. As a result, the company decided not to make exceptions, and just to pay all the directors money.
In late April "Rosneft"’s Board of Directors suggested that the shareholders approve the payment of gratuity to the participants, the company stated yesterday. Sergey Chemezov, CEO "Rosteh", should get the least of all – $ 530 thousand, Andrei Kostin, the chairman of the VTB Bank board, and Donald Humphreys, a former senior vice president of ExxonMobil, earned $ 560 thousand each, Nikolai Laverov, the vice-president of Russian Academy of Sciences, - $ 550 thousand, Matthias Warnig, the Managing Director of Nord Stream AG, and John Mack, the KKR & Co.LP senior adviser - $ 580 thousand each. The remuneration is not allowed for Igor Sechin, the President of "Rosneft", and Bob Dudley, the head of BP (owns 19.75 %), refused it himself, "guided by internal politics".
