SOCAR commissions a refurbished well in the Caspian Sea.

SOCAR (the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) has put a well into operation after the workover in the shallow part of the "Guneshli" field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, according to a statement released by SOCAR.

The report notes that the well, located on the "Guneshli - 15" platform, was included in the operational fund with the daily debit of 180 thousand cubic meters of gas and 75 tons of oil.

The "Guneshli" field plays an important role in the oil and gas industry of Azerbaijan. The shallow part of the deposit is developed by SOCAR independently and the deep - as part of the block of "Azeri – Chirag – Guneshli" together with the foreign partners.

SOCAR is planning to drill 20 new wells as part of the increasing production in the shallow part of the "Guneshli" oil and gas field. They are working on repairing the old wells along with the drilling of new ones in the field.
