Pipes to be replaced at Kashagan

The replacement of pipelines due to which the oil extraction was shut down at the offshore deposit Kashagan starts in the spring 2015, deputy managing director of NCOC, Zh. Marabaev, said.

The replacement of pipelines will start as soon as ice drifts at the Caspian and the navigation will be possible.

Mr. Marabaev said: “Initially the works on the construction of pipelines that connect the offshore complex of the deposit with the onshore unit Bolashak will be held on the surface. It is explained by the ban to hold any offshore operations until June due to the spawning. When the ban is over, the construction will start at the offshore site”.
