The European Commission may have access to contracts for the supply of gas and intergovernmental agreements on energy before they were signed. The proposal was approved by the Board of the European Union (EU) on June 6, according to a press release from the board. If the European Parliament approves the autumn of this decision, EU countries will have to inform the European Commission about plans to begin negotiations in the energy sector, and - regularly - about their process. The European Commission will assess future agreements on gas supplies.
