Kiev asked Gazprom to renew gas supply to the Ukraine

Gazprom received a letter from Naftogas asking to recover the Russian gas supplies. The Ukraine hasn’t purchased gas from November 2015.

On June 6th Gazprom received the official letter from Naftogas asking to renew gas supplies, A. Miller said. It is about 9 months: H2 2016 and Q1 2017, he added.

The necessity of direct supplies of the Russian gas Mr. Miller explained by the reduction of supplies of the European gas to the Ukraine: daily volume of gas reverse from Europe fell by 6.4 times in June against May, and by 16.8 times against April.

The supplies of the Russian gas to the Ukraine were terminated in November 2015. Naftogas collected the entire volume of the pre-paid gas and didn’t file new applications for gas supply.

The head of Naftogas, A. Kobolev, said that the company was negotiating with Gazprom on the renewal of gas supply from Q3 2016. According to him, to recover the supplies the price of the Russian gas is to be lower than that Kiev if offered by Europe.
