The Ukraine reduced scrap metal export by 2.5 times in 2016

The Ukrainian scrap metal enterprises in January-May 2016 reduced the export of scrap metal by 2.5 times against January-May 2015 – to 206.6 thousand tons from 506.7 thousand tons.
The revenue from the export of scrap metal in January-May 2016 fell by 3.4 times to $36.3 mln, that makes up 0.26% of the entire Ukrainian export in January-May 2016. Almost the entire exported from the Ukraine scrap metal is shipped to Turkey – over 99.6%.
The import of scrap metal to the Ukraine in January-May 2016 grew by 7.4 times to 10.4 thousand tons. in monetary terms the import rose by 52% to $2.9 mln.
