Canada-Japan alliance to construct 9 tankers for “Yamal LNG”

Teekay (Canada) and Mitsui OSK Lines (Japan) this week will sign an agreement on thejoint construction of 9 tankers for the Russian company “Yamal LNG”.
On July 8th in Seoul, Teekay and Mitsui OSK Lines plan to sign a contract on the construction of 9 tankers for Yamal LNG at the presence of the head of Novatek, L. Mikhelson. The alliance undertakes to supply 6 tankers to the Russian company. Moreover, 3 tankers will be shipped by Mitsui OSK Lines. The cost of 1 tanker is $318 mln. The total amount of the deal is about $3 bln.
