EU starts anti-dumping investigation in respect of rolled products from the Ukraine, Russia and another 3 countries

The EU starts the anti-dumping investigation in respect of hot-rolled products from the Ukraine, Russia, Serbia, Brazil, Iran.

The investigation was initiated on the basis of the claim of the European Association of Steel Producers (Eurofer). It thinks that these countries increased steel import to the EU as a result of which increased their stakes in the European market.

All this as well as prices at which these countries sell their products to the EU have a negative impact on the local companies.

The investigation covers the period of July 1st 2015-June 30th 2016 and will take 15 months. Interim measures may be introduced not later than in 9 months from the start of the investigation.

At the beginning of 2016 the EU introduced preliminary anti-dumping duties for cold rolled products from Russia. In May the duty was increased.
