Naftogaz is afraid of new lawsuit of Gazprom for $60 bln

Naftogaz Ukrainy has feared that Russian Gazprom may increase the claims in the Stockholm arbitration on gas debt to $60 billion. It is reported by the TASS.

The Naftogaz’s leadership admits that Gazprom may demand for additional $29.5 billion from the Ukrainian company in connection with the item of "take or pay", prescribed in the contract for the supply of Russian natural gas to the Ukraine. Consequently, the scope of the Gazprom’s claims to the Ukraine could exceed $60 billion, said the development director of Naftogaz Yuri Petrenko at the briefing on Thursday, July 7.
