NLMK to reduce prime cost of cast iron

NLMK has started to realize the project on the construction of the 2nd coal injection unit in Lipetsk. The completion of the project will allow it to apply the modern resource saving technology at over 90% of the company’s blast furnaces.

In July 2015 NLMK was issued a permit for the construction and currently started to prepare for the construction and assembly works at the complex which will cover the largest and most productive blast furnaces of the plant: #6 with the capacity of 3.1 mln tons a year and “Rossiyanka” with the capacity of 4.3 mln tons a year.

The investment into the project will make up over 6.5 bln roubles. It is planned to put the project into operation in H2 2017.
