OMV maybe not permitted to exchange assets with Gazprom
The oil and gas company OMV (Austria) will be able to exchange assets with Gazprom only if the Austrians have the opportunity to participate in the development of the deposits in Urengoy. According to the RIA Novosti, the Austrian edition Kurier wrote about this today.
Let’s recall that in June, head of Russian gas giant Alexei Miller and the OMV’s Board member Manfred Leitner signed a memorandum of understanding in St. Petersburg. According to this document, OMV will be included in the Nord Stream-2 project.
However, Austrian analysts are wary of the agreement. They want to know the conditions, under which OMV will receive a share in the Urengoy oil and gas projects, what the Austrians will give Gazprom in exchange, if such agreement is concluded.
