Gazprom to decide on the first branch of Turkish Stream

Gazprom will come to an agreement with the Turkish partners at first on the realization of the first branch of Turkish Stream and then with the rest. There were no decisions made on the refusal from the construction of 4 branches of the gas pipeline, deputy chairman of Gazprom, A. Medvedev, said.

We have agreed with Turkey that at first we will come to an agreement concerning branch 1, then will look at the other branches. If anyone thinks that Turkey has refused from the next branches, they are mistaken. It will depend on the demand from Europe, as the fall of domestic extraction is inevitable and is taking place at accelerated rates, Medvedev said.

The Minister of Energy A. Novak said that he doesn’t expect the intergovernmental agreement by Turkish Stream to be signed by Turkey until the formation of a new Government. The President of Turkey, T. Erdogan, approved the temporary Government until November 1st.
