Oil extraction at Kashagan has resumed

Oil extraction has resumed at the giant oil and gas deposit Kashagan in Kazakh sector of the Caspian Sea,the Kazakh Ministry of Oil and Gas reports.

Oil extraction at the shelf of the Caspian Sea started on September 11th and was stopped on September 25th due to the problems revealed at the gas pipeline. As it was previously reported by the Minister of Oil and Gas, Uzakbai Karabalin, the stopping of oil extraction at Kashagan mustn’t affect the commercial extraction at the amount of 75 thousand barrels per day planned in October 2013.

“On October 6th the wells of Kashagan were opened after the repair, oil extraction was resumed without problems”, is said in the report.
