The share of Russia in the total oil production in the CIS increased to 78%

By 2012, oil production in the CIS increased by 2.6% to 659 million tons compared to 2009, including by 3.5% in Kazakhstan, by 4.5% in Russia, and by 4.8% in Turkmenistan, under the forecast for energy resources production and consumption in the CIS states until 2020. The forecast was admitted by the Council of the CIS leaders at the session in St. Petersburg, Russia on November 20 2013. Production reduced in Azerbaijan by 14%, in Uzbekistan by 28.9% and in the Ukraine by 16.2%. Russia remains the leader in liquid hydrocarbons production.
