In 2014 Belarus replaced Kazakhstan by volumes of Russian oil import

​In 2014 the CIS imported 10.8% of the total volume of crude oil import. Among the main consumers of the Russian oil in the CIS are Belarus, Kazakhstan, the Ukraine – Belarus increased the import.

Within the past 3 years Belarus increased the consumption of the Russian oil by 73.1%: from 3.4 mln tons in Q1 2011 to 5.9 mln tons in Q3 2014.

The oil export to Kazakhstan and the Ukraine significantly fell: in Q3 2014 it didn’t reach 1% in the structure of Russia’s export. It is due to the reorientation of Kazakhstan on its own resources and political situation in the Ukraine.

From 2009 Russian gradually changes its focus towards Asia: China, Japan, South Korea. It is evident after the introduction of anti-Russian sanctions and the crisis in the Ukraine.
