SOCAR has put into operation a new well at Saadan deposit

​SOCAR has put into operation a new well at the onshore Saadan deposit. A 1.4 thousand m deep well was drilled to the productive “Maikop” layer.

The daily output of the well is 8 tons of oil. The drilling of the well was ordered Siyazannet of SOCAR that develops the Saadan deposit.

The Saadan deposit is located on the territory of the Caspian-Kubinsky oil and gas area. The geological exploration of this area started in 1939 on the basis of detailed geological survey and the industrial oil and gas contents of the Maikop layers was discovered for the first time in 1942. Later a number of oil deposits were discovered at the following sites: Chandagar-Zorat, Siazan-Nardaran, Saadan, Amikhanly, Zagly and Zeiva with the total length of over 50 km.
