Rosneft plans to construct ethylene production capacities of 6-7 mln tons a year

​Rosneft plans to construct oil and gas chemicals production capacities with the total volume of ethylene output of 6-7 mln tons, the advisor to the President of Rosneft, I. Soglaev, said.

After the successful realization of 3 oil chemicals projects we will produce about 6-7 mln tons of ethylene and additional other products in Russia, he said.

Mr. Soglaev said that as the addition to the project “East Siberia Oil Chemicals Company” Rosneft studies the construction of pyrolysis by about 2 mln tons of ethylene in the Samara region. This project will focus on raw materials from the deposits of the Western Siberia (Rospan), Samara and Orenburg regions.

The products of the complex will focus on the domestic market, the main accent will be made on the production of polymers for car manufacturing and construction sectors, I. Soglaev said.
