Gazprom has started drilling at the Chayanda deposit
Gazprom has started to drill the first operational wells at the oil rim of the Chayanda deposit in Yakutia.
The Chayanda deposit is the primary gas source for supplies to China by Power of Siberia. It is planned to annually extract up to 25 bln cubic m of gas at the Chayanda deposit. Oil will be shipped to the ESPO system. It is planned to start gas extraction at the Chayanda deposit in late 2018.
In late April-early May “Gazprom burenie” started to drill the wells 1OTs, 2OTs and 1OPR. The drilling of the pilot bore of 1,920 m will take about 2 months, then the testing will take 20 days, and the drilling of the horizontal bore will take another month.
A year ago the first oil was received at the Chayanda deposit (trial operation) out of the drilled in the Soviet times well 321-14. The first 350 tons of oil were drilled from it.
