Turkmenistan increases gas export to China

​The capacity of the gas pipeline from Turkmenistan to China will make up 55 bln cubic m a year in 2015, the Ministry of Oil and Gas Industry and Mineral Resources of Turkmenistan reports.

The agency says that the cooperation between the countries in the energy sector has strengthened after the launch of the Turkmeni-China gas pipeline in 2009 that started to form a new network of transit-transport energy communications in Eurasia.

The throughput capacity of the first 2 branches of the gas pipeline by the end of 2010 made up 30 bln cubic m. in late 2014 the construction of the 3rd branch with the capacity of 25 bln cubic m of gas a year was over.

The throughput capacity of the pipeline system of Turkmenistan is expected to rise by 80 bln cubic m in the eastern direction.
