The HiTeCC technology allows to extract gold from the existing and future technological waste.

Nordgold has launched the production by the Outotec HiTeCC technology (hot pot) at the gold mining enterprise Suzdal in Kazkahstan.

Nordgold invested $5.8 mln into the construction of a new production capacity. Nordgold hopes that the project will fully pay back within less than 20 months at the gold price of $1,200/ounce and the currency rate of 350 tenges/$. The construction of the new production capacity started in July 2015. It is expected to reach the full capacity until the end of June 2016.

The HiTeCC technology allows to extract gold from the existing and future technological waste. The Suzal mine became the second enterprise in the world that put into industrial operation the production by the stated technology. It allows to process the existing and future waste of tailing ponds at the volume of over 130 thousand tons a year. The current reserves of industrial raw materials subject to the secondary processing are assessed at 637 thousand tons with gold content of 7.17 g/ton. Tests showed an opportunity of gold extraction at the level of 40-70%.
