Norilsk Nickel invests $4.5 bln over next 3 years

​MMС Norilsk Nickel plans to invest over $4.5 bln in the production modernization within the coming 3 years, the President and chairman of the company, V. Potanin, said.

The process goes on, I would say everything is more than successful. It is necessary to change the model of the entire production, make it modern. In the coming 3 years we will spend over $4.5 bln on that, he said.

Mr. Potanin said that in 2015, 43 objects were put into operation which is more than for the past few years together.

The Vice-President of Norilsk Nickel for strategic planning, S. Dubovitsky, said that in the coming 3 years the company plans to invest about $1.9-2.3 bln into the maintenance of the existing capacities, $1.2-1.4 bln into mining projects, $500-600 mln into the change of configuration of nickel production and another $400-500 mln into other projects of reconstruction and modernization.

In 2016 the total investment volume is planned at $1.5 bln, plus $500-550 mln into the construction f the Bystrinsky GOK.
