Crimea has doubled gas production, the acting leader for the economy issues of the republic R. Temirgaliyev says. Chernomorneftegaz operates in the region extracting gas. In the coming years, the region can increase gas production by 2-2.5 times by the explored reserves and technological abilities. Last year Chernomorneftegaz extracted 1.6 billion cubic m of gas. The Glebovskoye underground storage has 800 million cubic m of gas now. Crimea consumes 1.2 billion cubic m of gas a year.
