If Gazprom leaves Achema without gas tomorrow

The largest consumer of natural gas in Lithuania (37% of the total volume of imported gas - more than 1 billion cubic meters), the only producer of nitrogen fertilizers in the Baltic States - Achema plant partially stopped its production in July because of high gas prices. What will Lithuania face, if something that seems unlikely for a while, happens – Achema will lose Russian gas? The total volume of the plant's production is about 2 million tons; Achema exports most of it (80%) to the EU countries: France (17%), the UK (14%), Germany (9%), Belgium (5%), Poland (5%) and so on. The enterprise employs about 1 400 people.
