Kola mining and metallurgical company finishes the next stage of cobalt project

The pre-commissioning tests of the semiautomatic line of cobalt cathodes cutting and packaging have started at the Kola mining and metallurgical company (a subsidiary of Norilsk Nickel). The advanced equipment consists of two vertical shears, two feed tables, two manipulators, several conveyors, auxiliary equipment and station for filling and weighing of barrels.

The semi-automatic line of cobalt cathodes cutting allows the company to obtain the finished product in the form of strips and blocks (squares). At the same time, it complies with the latest safety requirements, in particular, the line is equipped with special electric motion sensors. If a man falls into the field of sensor beam during the start of cutting devices, the process will be stopped immediately.

Representatives of the manufacturer took part in the pre-commissioning. After completion of the tests, the decision on launch of new equipment should be made.
