Kazakhstan offers to create a consortium of companies on exploration of the Caspian depression

Kazakhstan offers to create an international consortium of oil and gas companies on exploration of the Caspian depression on land in the sea in the territory of Kazakhstan and Russia, the KazTAG reported, referring to the Kazakh Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov.

“In a short space of time, the oil production in Kazakhstan increased more than three times to the level of 80 million tons per year, and the gas production – more than five times to over 40 billion cubic meters. The start of the Kashagan project, undoubtedly, can been considered as a victory of technical progress, profitability of joint efforts of the leading oil and gas companies of the world, but Kazakhstan doesn’t stint itself with this project. Geological exploration is one of priorities in the policy of resource and industrial capacities of Kazakhstan,” – he said during the VIIIth Eurasian forum Kazenergy “Energy of the future – Eurasian perspectives” on Tuesday.
