Bashneft, one of the top ten oil companies of Russia, Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat, one of the largest Russian petrochemical producers, and Polief, belonging to the holding company Sibur, the only manufacturer of terephthalic acid in Russia and one of the largest Russian manufacturers of polyethylene terephthalate, can enter the "Territorial petrochemical cluster of Bashkortostan", said director of the Institute of Petroleum Refining and Petrochemistry of the republic Elshad Telyashev.
According to him, in 2012, a horizontal network organization called "Territorial petrochemical cluster" was created on the basis of some petrochemical industries in Sterlitamak and Ishimbay. In 2014-2015, "much was done to revive this idea".
