Greece to study Putin’s suggestions about Turkish Stream

The President of Russia, V. Putin, and Prime-Minister of Greece, A. Cipras, have discussed the participation of Greece in Turkish Stream at the meeting in Moscow. According to Mr. Putin, there is nothing certain at the moment, however, he said that the joining of Greece will bring hundreds of million euro of profit.

“We have discussed it but nothing certain can be said as it requires preparation at various levels”, Mr. Putin said.

“It will depend on the Government of Greece after the workout of all the technical and economic issues if it will participate in this project”, he said.

Mr. Putin said that the participation of Greece in Turkish Stream rises the geopolitical status of this country which might become a large transit country for entire Europe. Greece will make good money on gas transit – it is about hundreds of million euro.

The parties also considered the issue of Russia’s assistance in the construction of the gas pipeline in Greece.
