The Kremlin doesn’t know if the gas contract between Russia and China will be signed in May, the press secretary of the President of Russia, D. Peskov, said.

According to him, the visit of the President of China, Si Tszinpin, presupposes the negotiations and some documents are being prepared but it is too early to say which of them will be signed, Mr. Peskov says.

Russia and China should sign a contract on gas supply by the western route. On February 13th Gazprom’s head A. Miller held negotiations in China upon the Russian gas supply by the western route. He said that the project of the gas pipeline by the western route is ready for construction. The new contract is worked out for the supply of 30 bln cubic m of gas a year.
