Zhambyl field to return expectancies
Since geological exploration has just begun, we can speak only about prospective reserves of this site, which are estimated at 120-130 million tons of oil.
In spite of the fact that the start of the industrial oil production at the field can be expected only in 7-10 years, its discovery will increase the optimism of investors, which appreciably decreased after drilling of “dry” wells at such perspective structures as Tyub-Karagan, Atash and Kurmangazy. In particular, reserves at the Kurmangazy were estimated at 1 billion tons of recoverable oil. Now it’s obvious that perspectives of new sea field discovery are not so hopeless, as they seemed.
