Gazprom to accelerate the start of development of a number of deposits in the framework of the Eastern program

Gazprom will accelerate the period of the start of production  at a number of deposits in the framework of the realization of the Eastern program, the head of the holding, A. Miller said.

He said that first of all the realization of the Eastern program is directed for the supply to the Russian consumers but at the same time Gazprom sees a high potential in the Asian-Pacific region.

First of all these are the markets of Japan,China and South Korea, he said.

Mr. Miller reminded that by the end of the year it is planned to make the investment decision on the development of the Chayanda deposit. Gazprom also plans to construct the Yakutia-Khabarovsk-Vladivostok gas pipeline. The construction of the LNG plant with the capacity of not less than 10 mln tons a year is planned in Vladivostok.

Mr. Miller said that the LNG is one of the priorities of Gazprom’s exports strategy, including for the supplies to Japan. He confirmed once again that the supply of the pipeline gas to Japan is not considered.
