Gazprom gives a demonstrative discount – Dmitry Firtash to get cheap gas for the Ukraine

As Kommersant assumed, Ostchem Holding of Dmitry Firtash has comes back and strengthened its position in Russian-Ukrainian gas relations. As  Kommersant has discovere,only this company, and not the state Naftogas Ukrainy, received a discount in the amount of 35%, coordinated with the Russian Authorities, from Gazprom for the pumping of gas into underground storages in the run-up to winter season, deprived the monopoly of about $700 million of income.

Yesterday, during the APEC summit in Indonesia, President Vladimir Putin stated that Gazprom, with the approval of the Russian Authorities, gave a gas discount to the Ukraine for its pumping into the underground gas storages in the amount of $260 per 1 thousand cubic meters. Gazprom didn’t comment on the information of the President, but sources of the Kommersant in the industry told that the discount for purchase of about 5 billion cubic meters of gas from the monopoly was got by Ostchem Holding of Dmitry Firtash.
