Rosneft to venture a takeover of Bashneft or Surgutneftegaz?

The Rosneft’s President Igor Sechin has promised the Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev that the Rosneft’s Board will consider and solve the issue of buyback of shares from BP-TNK Holding’s minority shareholders in the near future.

Dmitry Medvedev noted that the state must set an example of proper behaviour. “That is to make a decision, aimed at provision of favorable investment climate in respect to major company and its minority shareholders – to buy back corresponding shares. If you are ready, I’ll sign the corresponding decree today,” – the Prime Minister said at the plenary session during the investment forum in Sochi.
