The Group DF wants to take its gas from the underground storage facilities. The Ukrainian Group DF of Dmitriy Firtash threatens to thwart an attempt to fill to the maximumthe Kiev underground gas storage facilitiess (UGS) in anticipation of the winter peaks in demand. The company, which needs gas for its chemical plants, is going to challenge in the courts the government's ban on the increase of the private gas being taken from the underground storage facilities, threatening future shortages of fertilizers. If the Group DF and other private companies are able to withdraw their 5.5 billion cubic meters from the storages the gas reserves in Ukraine will fall by almost a third to 15.2 billion cubic meters.
