Lukoil has invested $1.3 billion to Romania

Lukoil has invested $1.3 billion to Romania, the Vice President for Refining and Sales V. Nekrasov says. Within the last 6 years, the Romanian budgets have received taxes of $3.3 billion, and this year the sum will be $720 million.

Within the period of operation at Petrotel-Lukoil, investment to the oil refinery have been $540 million. Lukoil has executed a large reconstruction of the plant, having shifted to Euro 5 fuel production. The depth of refining is 99%.

Another side of the investment and the taxes paid is despite the fact that Petrotel-Lukoil has accumulated losses of $700 million, due to macroeconomic conditions in which the company operates today, Mr. Nekrasov says. He claims that the results of the 20-year operation of Lukoil in Romania were destroyed within 5 days. They were stunned that Petrotel-Lukoil was stopped under the verdict of the prosecutor’s office. Lukoil was surprised by the accusations against the company as it operated in over 40 countries of the world including 22 EU countries, and has always been characterized as an effective and fair tax payer. Mr. Nekrasov is sure that the accusations will be acknowledged inconsistent.
