Putin to discuss joint energy projects in India

The President Putin on December 11th plans an official visit to India. He will discuss the cooperation in the energy sector.
The parties will sign the Intergovernmental program on the cooperation expansion between Russia and India in the oil and gas sector.
Currently Rosneft already cooperates with ONGC Videsh (affiliate of ONGC) in the framework of the Sakhalin-1 project.
Previously Rosneft was reported to have made an offer to ONGC to purchase 10% in the Vankor project. Meanwhile the managing director of ONGC Videsh, N. Kumar Varna, said that the company is potentially interested in the Vankor deposit’s development.
