In 2013, Surgutneftegaz increased oil extraction at fields of the Bazhenov group by over 60 % as compared with 2012 to 548 thousand tons, the company’s chief geologist Vyacheslav Chirkov reported at the meeting on creation of coordination center for study and development of unconventional types and resources of hydrocarbon raw materials under the Ministry of Natural Resources.
At the same time, commenting on these figures, he said: “What did it make for the company? This made the loss in the amount of 3 billion rubles”.
