The first section of the South Stream gas pipeline to be launched by the end of 2015

The first section of the South Stream gas pipeline will be launched by the end of 2015, the permanent representative of Russia to the European Union, Vladimir Chizhov told in interview to the RIA Novosti.

Gazprom implements project of the gas pipeline construction through the Black Sea to the states of South and Central Europe to diversify routes of export gas supplies. The South Stream construction started next to Anapa on December 7 of 2012`. It was reported earlier that the start of the commercial supplies is expected in the first quarter of 2016 and the achievement of the full capacity – 63 billion cubic meters per year – in 2018.
