New mini-LNG plants to be constructed in the Urals
“Gazprom transgas Yekaterinburg” plans to construct 6 new mini-LNG plats with the total capacity of about 25 tons/h in the Urals. They will be constructed near Kamensk-Uralsky and Nizhny Tagil (Sverdlovsk region), Magnitogorsk, Chelyabinsk and Yuzhnouralsk (Chelyabinsk region) as well as in Kurgan.
The foundation of similar plants in the Orenburg region is being discussed: at first in the framework of the Orenburg gas processing plant, in future – near Orsk, CEO D. Gaydt said.
The mini-plants will be like a pilot project constructed at GRS-4 ear Yekaterinburg in 2010. The technology of its operation differs from the traditional: it takes natural gas from the route network of Gazprom’s pipelines and for its liquefaction uses cold produced at the local gas distribution station at the liquefaction of route pressure (liquefaction is necessary for fuel transfer to the city’s networks).
