Threat of stoppage of fuel export to the Ukraine to place pressure on price of Gazprom’s shares

The next round of consultations in the Russia-the EU- the Ukraine format to resolve the situation with paying the Ukraine debt for Russian gas has been held.

According to the Russian Minister of Energy, Alexander Novak, head of the Russian delegation, the agreements, reached at the last negotiations on June 2nd, remain unchanged: Naftogaz Ukrainy must pay $1.45 billion for gas, delivered in November - December 2013, as well as partially pay for deliveries in April-May 2014 in the amount of $500 million.

Proposals for debt repayment schedule, issues of reliability of gas transit through the Ukraine, gas pumping into underground gas storage facilities, as well as the solvency of Kiev were discussed during the negotiations, the Ministry of Energy reported.
