Ferrous metal transshipment at the ports of Russia in January-May rose by 6.7%

​Metaltorg.ru reports that according to the information of the Association of sea trade ports of Russia, their turnover in January-May 2016 rose by 5.9% against January-May 2015 and made up 286.3 mln tons. The volume of dry cargo rose by 11.6% to 129.4 mln tons.

Coal transshipment grew to 52.1 mln tons (+10.5% against January-May 2015); ferrous metal transshipment – 12.2 mln tons (+6.7%), ore – 3.7 mln tons (growth by 1.6 times), non-ferrous metals – 1.6 mln tons (+3.3%).

The  volume of scrap metal transshipment in January-May 2016 fell to 1.7 mln tons (-2.1%).
