Gazprom to answer the antimonopoly claim of EU Commission until September 11th
Gazprom may formally answer the claims of the EU Commission in the framework of the continual antimonopoly investigation is over on September 11th, the company reports.
“The EU Commission has extended the period for answering the claims until September 11th. The acceptation of the statement of objection by the EU Commission is one of the stages of the held antimonopoly investigation and doesn’t mean Gazprom’s acknowledging itself guilty in any violation of the EU antimonopoly legislation”, is reported.
In August 2012 the EU Commission initiated the investigation upon a potential violation of the antimonopoly legislation by Gazprom. The latter considers the claims made by the EU Commission to be unreasonable and expects the settlement of the situation taking into account the agreement reached between the Government of Russia and EU Commission, the company adds.
