Europe reduces LNG purchase against the background of increase in gas supply from Russia

For the third month in a row Europe reduces the purchase of LNG against the background of increased supplies via pipelines from Russia, Genscape reports.

Imports of LNG to 10 European countries, in which it is delivered by tankers, fell by 3.4% in August year on year after it reached a two-year high in March.

In absolute terms, the decline was 0.09 million tons to 3.02 million tons. We are talking about the United Kingdom, Belgium, Spain, France, Greece, Italy, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Portugal and Turkey.
Since the beginning of the year, the LNG import in Europe grew by 4.3% y/y to 26.1 million tons.
