Rosneft gets access the gas pipeline

Rosneft, which unsuccessfully sought from Gazprom an access to the Trans-Sakhalin gas pipeline, after a series of losses in courts unexpectedly received support from the appeal court. The court ordered Sakhalin Energy, which is operator of the Sakhalin-2 project, supervised by Gazprom, to give Rosneft technical specifications for connection to the pipe for 8 billion cubic meters of gas. The oil company was going to use these amounts for the construction of its own plant for gas liquefaction, but in the current circumstances it is not clear whether Rosneft is ready to implement this project.

Yesterday, the Federal Arbitration Court of the Far Eastern District ordered Sakhalin Energy (50% belong to Gazprom) to give Rosneft an access to free facilities and technical specifications for the connection to the gas pipeline of the project. We are talking about the possible pumping of 8 billion cubic meters. Sakhalin Energy will also have to compensate Rosneft for court costs in the amount of 10 thousand rubles. Yesterday, the Kommersant failed to receive Sakhalin Energy’s comments, Gazprom and Rosneft don’t comment on the situation.
