In January – September, the Ukrainian oil refineries reduced output by 34%

The Ukrainian oil refineries continue losing ground in the market. Yesterday, the Ministry of Energy and the Coal Industry reported that in January – September, the Ukrainian oil refineries reduced production by 34.1%. This time the fall has happened at Kremenchug oil refinery and Shebelinsky gas refinery. Besides from the traditional tax problems, the reduction happened due to the abolition of production of Euro 3 fuel since July, and unfavorable state of affairs at the external markets. The situation can be improved in principle only with introduction of the benefits for the  oil refineries, to which the Ukrainian authorities are likely to prepare.

Yesterday, the Ministry of Energy and the Coal Industry reported that in January – September, the Ukrainian oil refineries and gas refineries reduced production by 34.1% to 2.3 million tons, including 731,500 tons of petrol (-43.4%), 700,800 tons of diesel fuel (-35.8%), and 367,800 tons of fuel oil (-37%). The Ministry of Energy and the Coal Industry reports that only 3 of 7 enterprises operated: The Kremenchug and Odessa oil refineries and the Shebelinsky gas refinery.
